Sherrill Jordan

Sherrill Jordan, a Lakeside resident from 2005 to the end of 2011 died at her home in Portland, Oregon on July 12, after a brave battle with lung cancer. She was 66 years old.

Originally from the East Coast of the United States, Jordan was born on September 8, 1945. She and her partner of 19 years, John Edd Dudley, moved to Mexico from Southern California in 2000. They settled first in the Yucatan and then moved to San Juan Cosala on Lake Chapala in 2005. Jordan and Dudley were well known to many friends who saw them almost daily at local restaurants such as Salvador’s and Café Magaña.

The couple moved back to the United States due to Jordan’s failing health and to be near her daughter and granddaughter in Portland.

She is survived by Dudley, two daughters, Nicole Riegl of Pennsylvania, and Meredith “Dixie” Jordan and granddaughter, Mia, of Portland.

This soul will be missed, G-d not having time to create very many people like her. Her thinking cap always on up to the minute, and a wonderful outlook on where she was going to go next. The obituary seems to me to be right on the mark as to what she was about. Judy, and I mourn her passing and pass along to her family our condolences.
