Mary Pumiglia

Chapala resident Mary Pumiglia died on July 5, succumbing to cancer.

Born May 14, 1943 in Manchester, Connecticut, Pumiglia was schooled in East Hartford.

She spent most of her life in Manchester. Her interests were many and varied. She served many years as the president of the Hartford Jazz Society but her priority was raising her children.

Pumiglia and her husband, Zane, retired to Chapala in 2005. She was an active member of Democrats Abroad, where she once held the office of secretary. She also served in many capacities, including president, at the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 7 in Chapala.

Pumiglia is survived by her loving husband Zane Pumiglia, six children and seven grandchildren. They are Jo-Ann Gorka, Janet McCann and her son Kyle, Jackie Gorka and her son Ryan, Joseph Gorka, Jennifer Saso (husband Tom) and her three children Evan, Hailey and Tom Alex Pumiglia (wife Kim) and their two children, Logan and Landon.

At Pumiglia’s request there will be no memorial or funeral services.
