500 drug plantations go up in smoke

The National Defense Department (Sedena) destroyed hundreds of marijuana and opium poppy plantations across western Mexico last month.
Sedena incinerated 402 marijuana plantations across 43 hectares of land, 131 opium poppy plantations across 17 hectares, 354 grams of marijuana, 600 grams of marijuana seeds and 300 grams of cocaine across the Fifth Military Region, which comprises the states of Aguascalientes, Colima, Jalisco, Nayarit and Zacatecas, in July.
