Mexico enjoys microbrewing boom

Mexican microbreweries increased production by 50 percent from 2011 to 2012, leading their share in the domestic beer market to rise from 0.46 to 0.65 percent. Half of the country’s microbreweries are located in Mexico City and Guadalajara. The total number registered across Mexico rose by 63 percent last year, with the craft beer market now worth about 500 million pesos.
