International Youth Day

During a celebration of International Youth Day, Monday August 12, that culminated with a free, well attended multi rock concert in the Plaza Liberacion, 115 teens from throughout the state competed as part of a state campaign of risk prevention in the city’s center. The youths had three hours to cover 15 stations in Plaza Tapatia and the Plaza de Armas where they competed in sports, fire brigades and cultural activities to learn more about accident prevention. An exam about what they learned was given at the end of the session. First and second place were taken by teams from Guadalajara and third place by a group from Tlajomulco.

Dr. R. Michel 577, a block south of Calzada González Gallo near the Agua Azul park.

More than 50 tequila producers have set up shop in Tlaquepaque for the third Expo Tequila Tlaquepaque, which runs from Thursday, September 5 through Sunday, September 8, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Centro Cultural El Refugio (Donato Guerra 160, between Contreras Medellín and Prisciliano Sánchez). Fans of Mexico’s firewater will find at least 150 different brands of tequila on exhibit and for tasting.
