Kidnappings on the rise

Kidnappings have tripled in Jalisco in the past four years, according to the Fiscalía General (State Attorney General’s Office).
So far in 2013, authorities have received reports of 66 kidnappings, compared to 64 for the whole of last year. In 2009, the figure was 20. Six of every 10 kidnappings take place in the Guadalajara metropolitan area, the statistics indicate.
