Tourism booms in September

Data released by the federal Ministry of Tourism this week shows a sharp rise in the number of tourists who visited Mexico in September.
Mexico received 7.1 percent more tourists than in September 2011, with visitors from 125 countries arriving on vacation.
The number of Americans and Canadians visiting Mexico grew respectively by 3.7 and 2.2 percent from the same month last year, while the number of British visitors shot up by 9.8 percent.
In total, over eight million foreigners visited Mexico in the first nine months of 2012, 6.1 percent more than the same period in 2011.
