World leaders to discuss Euro crisis in Los Cabos

The European economic crisis is expected to dominate the agenda when Mexico hosts the G20 summit in Los Cabos, Baja California next week.

President Felipe Calderon, who currently heads the G20, said on Tuesday that he expects important advances to be made during the June 18 and 19 meeting, with concrete fiscal proposals to be unveiled to tackle the crisis.

Calderon confirmed that attendees will include U.S. President Barack Obama, Russian President Vladimir Putin, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, British Primer Minister David Cameron and France’s newly elected President Francois Hollande. The heads of state of Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, India, South Korea and Spain will also be in attendance, among others.

Mexico is the first Latin American country to preside over the G20 and only the second emerging economy to do so after South Korea.
