Referendo can be paid at Chapala Banamex

Officials at the Chapala branch of Banamex are accepting payment of the annual car registration (referendo) for Mexican-plated vehicles.

Banamex is the only bank where the fee can be paid without having first printed out a receipt from the Jalisco Finance Secretariat website. The only information Banamex needs is the license plate number of the vehicle. The Finance Secretariat tells us that Banamex is the only bank linked to the system able to capture any traffic fines owed, in addition to the referendo fee. The bank will issue a simple receipt for the payment and the tarjeta de circulacion and window sticker (calcomania) will subsequently be sent to the car owner’s home address. Payment may also be made at other banks and Oxxo stores, with a printed receipt, or in person at Finance Secretariat offices. The Chapala office is located at Degollado 306. Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
