Top ranked matador slated in Tlaquepaque

The world’s best known matador Spaniard Julian Lopez “El Juli” will make an appearance at Tlaquepaque’s Plaza de Toros El Cenenario April 27.

El Juli was scheduled to perform at Guadalajara’s Plaza de Toros a few months back, but was sidelined by a car accident. The last time he picked up the cape at El Centenario 16 years ago, El Juli was a young novilliero. This time, he joins in a Charro-Taurino Festival, the first held in Jalisco.

The fun begins at 6 p.m. with a grand spectacle from the Charros de Jalisco, followed by the men in suits of lights with six bulls. The ring holds only 4,000, so get your tickets soon. Mariachi will perform during the pasodobles and beer, tequila and soft drinks will be served during the event. Tickets run from 1,000 to 2,000 pesos and can be purchased Restaurants La Grelha and El Abajeño in Tlaquepaque, the offices of Mensejeria AM PM on Avenida Aviacion and at celular telephone distributor Claris in Plaza Galerias. The Tlaquepaque Family Development Agency (DIF) will benefit from the event.
