Shootings become commonplace in Chapalita

Even the leafy neighborhood of Chapalita has not been immune to the violence that has periodically gripped the metropolitan area over the past few years.

The latest “execution” style shooting occurred on Wednesday, March 27, at 9:15 a.m., when a businessman and his driver were ambushed and shot to death after they got out of their SUV at the corner of Ermita and De Los Jardines.

This was the eighth incident involving weapons in the Chapalita neighborhood since May 2012. Four men and one woman died in the incidents.
