Student troubadours shine

Despite a late start that prompted a last-minute change in logistics, the Estudiantina music program held at the Chapala Malecon last Saturday provided two hours of knock-out entertainment for spectators who patiently waited out the delay.

The Tuna de Guadalajara from the University of Guadalajara’s School of Engineering stole the show with a repertoire of lively songs, consummate instrumental talent and a spirited tambourine player who performed amazing acrobatics as the troubadours danced in serpentine patterns while making their way along the waterfront boardwalk. A magnificent fall sunset and balmy evening weather added a touch of magic to the serenade.
