The traditional Christmas concert includes pieces by Händel, Mozart and others, under the direction of guest conductor Allen Vladimir Gomez.

Zapopan’s Culture Department presents four seasonal concerts: the Niños Cantores de Zapopan, directed Benjamin Bautista, singing Christmas carols and vilancicos on Sunday, December 15, 6:30 p.m.; the Banda Sinfonica de Zapopan, directed by Santiago Cumplido, interpreting Christmas melodies on Monday, December 16, 8:30 p.m.; the Coro Municipal de Zapopan, directed by Santiago Cumplido, performing “Messe du Minuet” on Tuesday, December 17, 8:30 p.m. and the Orquesta Sinfónica de Zapopan, directed by Guillermo Salvador, with a Christmas repertoire on Wednesday, December 18, 8:30 p.m.

The Nutcracker

The professional Joven Ballet de Jalisco interprets this Christmas staple that features Tchaikovsky’s unforgettable score.  The well-known libretto is adapted from E.T.A. Hoffmann’s story “The Nutcracker and the Mouse King.” Eager Tapatios will have three performances to choose from.(See story page 6.)

Jalisco Philharmonic Orchestra
