The Magic Flute at Degollado

The Compañia Universitaria de Opera and the Jalisco Philharmonic Orchestra will team up to present Austrian composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s 1791 opera “The Magic Flute” at Guadalajara’s Teatro Degollado.

Directed by Vladimir Gomez Allen, “The Magic Flute” tells the story of a prince on a quest to rescue a beautiful princess. The spoken parts will be performed in Spanish and the songs in English.

The opera lasts over two hours and will be presented on Friday, January 27, 8 p.m. and Sunday, January 29, 12.30 p.m.  Tickets range from 100 to 350 pesos and can be purchased from www.ticketmaster.com.mx or 3818-3800. Tickets are also available at the theater box office with a 50-percent discount for students, teachers, seniors and people with special needs.
