Around 50,000 high-achieving students from 137 primary and secondary schools in the state of Jalisco will receive free tickets to Pan American Games events. A group of philanthropic Mexican business leaders is responsible for the donation of the tickets under a nationwide program known as Butaca Enlace, which rewards stand-out students by giving them the chance to attend major sporting events. Selection will be based on performance in the annual "Prueba Enlace" test given to all primary and secondary school students in Mexico. The exam in 2011 covered Spanish, math and geography. The students will accompanied to the sporting events by their teachers, for whom 3,500 tickets have been reserved.
