The Telmex Athletics Stadium, finished only at the end of last week, was certified Tuesday as an official venue by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF), the international governing body for athletics.

This means that results in all Pan American Games track-and-field events will be recognized. There had been concern that delays to the stadium might result in non-accreditation by the IAAF and any records set during competition not being recognized by the IAAF.

Around 700 athletes will participate in the track-and-field events, scheduled at the Telmex Stadium from October 23 to 30.
