The Pan American Games “Fan Fest” will be installed along the temporarily pedestrianized Avenida Chapultepec from Thursday, October 13 through October 30. It will be open from noon to 11 p.m. each day. The entertainment will start around 5 p.m. Several Mexican states have been invited to furnish pavilions in the Fan Fest, along with some Latin America countries, including Argentina, Colombia and Panama. Also stretching up Chapultepec from the Niños Heroes glorieta as far as Avenida La Paz will be a series of booths promoting the municipalities of metro-area Guadalajara, Mexico’s Pueblos Magicos (“Magical” colonial towns), as well as local gastronomic delights. There will be daily performances from a diverse range of entertainers, including Tlaquepaque folk singer Paco Padilla, the Cirque du Soleil-style Zaico Circo, the Golden Ganga jazz band and folkloric ballets from Canada, Panama and Guadalajara. The Fan Fest is sure to attract dozens of athletes and visitors and promises to be one of the non-sporting highlights of the games.
