Chapala to host water ski competition
Friday, October 07 2011 12:43

The Pan American  Games water skiing competition will be held at the Boca Laguna Ski Club located four kilometers east of Chapala, just past the entrance to Santa Cruz de la Soledad.

Semi final competition in wakeboard and figures will be held October 20, followed on October 21 by trial heats in slalom and jumping. Wakeboard and overall finals are scheduled for Saturday, October 22, with the figures, slalom and jumping finals on Sunday, October 23, 9 a.m.

Tickets for seating in the spectator stands at these contests have sold out at Tickmaster. However,  Chapala Tourism Director Octavio Mendoza and management at Boca Laguna tell the Reporter that negotiations with Pan Am organizers are under way to open up a section of the grounds to the local populace with payment of a modest entrance fee at the gate.

Reports suggest a mobile ticket office will be set up at the Chapala Malecon this weekend for the sale of tickets for other games events.
