Scotland's Matthew moves to front at Lorena Ochoa Invitational

Catriona Matthew fired a 4-under 68 to move to 11-under-par and take a three-shot lead into the final round of the Lorena Ochoa Invitational at the Guadalajara Country Club.

The 42-year-old from Scotland is looking for her first LPGA Tour victory since the 2009 British Open.

Matthew had gone birdie-free though 52 holes before she dropped a stoke on the par three 17th after pulling her tee shot into a front bunker.

Even with a comfortable cushion over nearest challengers Suzann Pettersen (8 under) and defending champion I.K. Kim (7 under), Matthew was taking nothing for granted. "They are capable of coming up from behind, so I'm going to have to go out there tomorrow and shoot something in the 60s.

Despite the absence of host Lorena Ochoa, who is expecting her first child next month, Guadalajara golf fans turned out in force, although many were disappointed that favorites Paula Creamer and Juli inkster were unable to make any impact on the leader board.

Overnight leader Inkster fell back to five under par after a disappointing 75.

The biggest move of the day was made by Brittany Lincicome, who shot a three-under 69 to jump from 28th place into a tie for 14th at even par.
