Kudos to those considerate police I met in Guadalajara last month! They pulled me over apparently to search for drugs. I suppose a septuagenarian driving alone at night must have seemed suspect.

I have been overwhelmed this past week and even before that by the tremendous kindness, thoughtfulness and care shown to me by the people of the Lakeside community.

Several years ago, my husband Rick Standing and I began to look toward solar options for our B&B;, Quinta del Sol in Ajijic. Living in Ajijic with the abundance of sunlight we enjoy, it seemed a logical and economical step.  We attended seminars and spoke to local suppliers before deciding to move forward using Mexican technology from Solartec, then in Leon and now located in Irapuato, Guanajuato. Solartec Mexico manufactures photovoltaic systems which directly convert energy from sunlight into electricity.  Solartec products are certified UL label and Made in Mexico. Rick did the design himself and contracted with local welding shops for the frames and miscellaneous labor.

A quick note to thank two “angels” who rescued me after falling coming down the concrete steps at Yves.  After picking me up, they retrieved their car and drove me to the Red Cross in Chapala for X-ray and treatment.  I only have one name, “Harvey Bernier.”  They were both so kind, I would like them to be recognized for their care, concern and generosity.  Also many thanks to the doctor and staff at the Red Cross!
