Dear Sir,
While extending my sincerest thoughts and feelings for Patty Kahr on the horrid experience of having lost her husband, I also wish to thank her for her most gracious “thank you’s” in last week’s Guadalajara Reporter.
Ms Kahr has shown grace, civility, control and a deserved appreciation for the work of Chapala’s leaders and especially for Chief of Police Reynol Contreras and his excellent staff of officers who, despite the hysterical and offensive rantings of a few fellow expats, continue to do their work for all of us. I admire their reactions, calm, understanding and patient, to the insults showered on them in earlier emails.
I thank Patty for her show of appreciation and, with her, thank the leaders for doing all they can to work on solutions to crime in our community. Graciousness and civility always do so much more for relations between locals and foreigners than do anger, demands and insults.
