Stephen Christopher Kahr

Stephen Christopher (Chris) Kahr died at his Ajijic home on November 29 at the age of 69.

Born February 2, 1942 in New York City, Kahr graduated from Columbia University School of Law and worked as an attorney in the New York metropolitan area for more than 30 years. He married his wife Patricia in 1964.

The Kahrs retired in 2007 and began dividing their time between their home in Fire Island, New York and Ajijic. Though Kahr was not directly involved with clubs or charities at Lakeside, he was known as a good friend to many and offered his personal assistance to those who needed it. He loved Mexico and was learning Spanish.

He is survived by his wife Patricia and two sons: David Ivan Kahr of Guadalajara and Adam Paul Kahr of Seattle. He had one granddaughter, Anina Kahr of Seattle. His sister, Dale Moses, lives in Coconut Grove, Florida.

Plans for a private memorial observance are pending.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations to the Cruz Roja Chapala Delegation would be appreciated.

How ironic this well liked man was to retire to Mexico, from New York, to enjoy the golden age only to be gunned down. What a shame when the place once called the "second best place on Earth to live" is now more deadly than New York!
I'm sorry for the loss of this man's life, and ask the Lord to be with his family in this hard time.
