New hospital opens in Paradise Village

A new hospital has opened in the Paradise Village complex in Bahia de Banderas.  The Hospital San Javier Riviera Nayarit is looking to get a lot of its business from the growing medical tourism market, especially from Canada, hospital directors say. The new facility is run by Grupo Empresarial San Javier, which has operated hospitals in Guadalajara and Puerto Vallarta for the past 17 and 11 years, respectively.

During the opening ceremony, San Javier Group president Jose Leon said the company has been working for six months on developing medical tourism ties with Canada in particular, but also the United States.

The new hospital offers 24-emergency care, as well as outpatient service, clinical analysis, radiology, ultrasound, hemodialysis, intensive care and more, staff say.
