The democratic election of town administrators in Ajijic, San Antonio Tlayacapan, Santa Cruz de la Soledad, San Nicolas de xIbarra and Atotonilquillo has been put on hold until early 2013.
Chapala Mayor Joaquin Huerta pledged to reinstate the public referendum process that had become customary with every change of government since the 1990’s. In November the city council approved reforms to municipal government regulations that were required to reverse the system of direct designation by the chief executive implemented by the previous administration.
