Fresh from the National Democratic Convention, Tim Whiting, president of the Lake Chapala Chapter of Democrats Abroad, brought signs, slogans and chants to a raucous meeting at La Nueva Posada last week in a bid to get members fired up for the fall elections.
The chapter is also still committed to their non-partisan registration of voters at Salvador’s Restaurant on Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to noon and at the Lake Chapala Society on Fridays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
“Remember, the law has changed,” said Whiting. “To vote in a U.S. election, you must reregister each year – no matter how many times you’ve voted before.”
