On New Year’s Eve (Monday, December 31) several of Guadalajara’s top hotels are holding dinners or galas to see in 2013 in style.
The Fiesta Americana (Aurelio Aceves 225, beside the Minerva Glorieta) gala lasts from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m. with guests entitled to a welcome cocktail, a five-course gourmet meal, a glass of sparking wine and international drinks from the bar until 2 a.m. There will be a DJ and party hats and decorations. Guests will also be invited to take part in the traditional custom of eating 12 grapes, one for each chime when the clock strikes midnight.
The meal consists of portobello mushrooms in puff pastry with feta cheese; tuna with cous cous, apricot, yogurt, mint and a touch of pesto; cream of tomato soup with mascarpone, black olives and croutons; shrimp with parmesan and cream thermidor, and beef with mustard, honey and butter shallots, potatoes and vegetables and finally vanilla and lemon pana cotta with nougat sauce.
