Guadalajara Mayor Ramiro Hernandez (L) supervises city workers busy filling some annoying and potentially dangerous potholes.
On a daily basis drivers in the metropolitan area are forced to negotiate dozens of the many baches that blight streets and avenues. A recent survey done by Guadalajara city hall estimates the total number of potholes in the municipality to be 180,000 – affecting 12 percent of streets. The plan is to fill 90 percent of these by the end of the year.
