Guadalajara’s growing number of cyclists marked World No Car Day with a series of events last weekend. A jazz concert, soccer game and a verbena popular were among the celebrations held on streets closed off to traffic especially for the day.
A widely heard complaint from activists on World No Car Day was the lack of enthusiasm on the part of local politicians to implement policies that encourage people to leave their cars at home.
