Mexican discount airline Interjet will soon be flying direct from Orange County’s John Wayne Airport to Guadalajara, as well as Mexico City and Los Cabos.
According to local news reports in California, Interjet will fly an Airbus A320 to John Wayne Airport to see if it qualifies for the airport’s stringent noise abatement limits. A test is tentatively scheduled for September 4.
The reports say Interjet has already received permission for the route and intends to launch a daily service to Guadalajara and Mexico City in the fall.
