The Jalisco Health Secretary (SSJ) is to continue fumigating homes in Guadalajara in order to prevent a dengue outbreak, despite staff twice being threatened at gunpoint when attempting to carry out their work.
“We’re not going to stop fumigating,” said SSJ Director Antonio Muñoz Serrano. “Thanks to this, Jalisco has kept dengue well under control.”
Despite the two threats against his staff made in Guadalajara’s Basilio Badillo and Jalisco neighborhoods, Muñoz said “the people of Jalisco have supported our work and allowed us into their homes.”
