Six-million-dollar children’s shelter takes shape

A ground-breaking shelter in Guadalajara to care for mentally challenged children in Jalisco will be up and running in September, State Governor Emilio Gonzalez announced this week.

Gonzalez laid the first stone of the “100 Corazones” home in the Jardin Real neighborhood in December 2010.  When finished it will provide round-the-clock attention to up to 100 youngsters, most of whom are being cared for in various children’s homes throughout the state.  They will be selected by the Jalisco Family Development Agency (DIF)
