More long weekends

Jalisco’s 2.2 million students started classes again last Monday after two weeks of Easter vacation, but can look forward to two long weekends soon.  Classes are suspended on Monday, April 30 and Tuesday, May 1 for Dia del Niño and Labor Day, respectively.  Another mini vacation will be taken on May 14 and 15 to celebrate Teacher’s Day.

Morelia puts on the suds – with some food thrown in!

The second annual Festival Gastro Cervecero (food and beer fest) takes place this Saturday and Sunday, April 21 and 22 in Morelia, Michoacan.

New hotel opens in Sayula, Jalisco

Airports register big March passenger bump

Western Mexico airport operator Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico (GAP) says preliminary terminal passenger traffic figures for March increased six percent compared to the previous year.  Domestic passenger traffic increased 5.8 percent, while international passenger traffic rose 6.2 percent.
