Dear Sir,

It is great to read in the Reporter that the U.S. State Department considers Guadalajara and Puerto Vallarta safe for U.S. citizens.

I wonder when it will declare El Paso, Laredo, Phoenix, Los Angeles, Stockton, Oakland, Detroit, Flint, Chicago, St. Louis, Memphis, New Orleans, Little Rock, Miami, Atlanta, Baltimore, New York and Washington D.C. safe for U.S. citizens?

Editor’s note: Just to balance things a tad and not tar all the above-mentioned cities with the same brush, the murder rate in New York City has hit a 50-year-low and this week a day passed that was entirely free from violent crime – the first time in living memory, according to New Yorkers.
