Keep a lookout for volunteers from the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and the Royal Canadian Legion, who will be set up in various places around Lakeside to dispense the traditional Veterans Day/Remembrance Day poppies.
Both kinds of poppies will be available at the same place and time. Donations for the Canadian poppy will go to the Royal Canadian Legion poppy fund. For the American crepe-paper poppy they will go to the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary poppy fund. Those funds aid veterans and their families in need.
