San Antonio holds belated festivities

Lakeside residents hankering for more hoopla after this weekend’s Mexican Independence festivities will find what they’re looking for in San Antonio Tlayacapan. In keeping with local custom, the town has slated its patriotic partying a week later than usual.

The celebration begins Saturday, September 22, with a typical village fair on the central square kicking into action at 9 p.m., with an early Grito ceremony set for 10 p.m.  and a live show with music for all tastes to follow. The program will wrap up around midnight to assure a safe, wholesome family environment for all.
