Filling in the gap left when the Animal Shelter closed its dog adoption center in June, volunteers from that facility have begun anew to provide a shelter for abandoned, lost and unwanted dogs to be cared for and placed for adoption.
The new digs, several acres of land donated with a 15-year lease by local attorney and animal activist Mayra Ortiz, is located east of Chapala next to the Ladron Pet Resort.
