True to its mission to serve the Lakeside community, the Lake Chapala Society (LCS) is holding Health Days on Wednesday and Thursday, February 8 and 9, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Vaccinations for pneumonia (original and booster) will be given February 8 and February 9, 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on the Neil James patio at a cost of 400 pesos. Typhoid shots, given at the same time will cost 450 pesos. Hepatitis A & B shots (original and booster) will cost 750 pesos. Payment for the vaccinations will be expected at the nurse’s station on the day the shot is administered. Advance sign-up in the LCS office is required for all of the shots.
Skin cancer screening will take place on February 8 from 10 a.m. to noon in the clinic and insurance office. Sign-up is required.
Blood sugar screening will be from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on February 8 and February 9 on the Neill James patio. Eat a high carbohydrate meal (cereal, fruit, juice, pancakes, granola, etc.) two hours before testing.
Blood pressure will be taken on February 8, 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Talking Books room.
