Chapala’s fiestas patronales came to a close with a full day of festivities Tuesday, October 4. The first-time highlight of the celebration began just after noon when scores of pilgrims followed a life-size statue of patron Saint Francis of Assisi as it was carried out of the church and boarded on a tourist boat for an hour-long excursion along the shoreline of Lake Chapala.
