A cornucopia of local crafts

The fall edition of the tri-annual Expo Chapala Artesenal (ECA) arts and craft fair takes place Friday, November 16 through Sunday, November 18 at the esplanade outside the Auditorio de la Ribera, La Floresta. The event is open free of charge, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Look for great deals on goods made by Chapala area craftsmen including hand-embroidered clothing, typical huarache footwear and other leather goods, Wixirika Indian beadwork, jewelry and fashion accessories, hand-loomed textiles, corn husk flowers and figurines, and an array of decorative items for the home and garden such as ceramic and ironwork pieces, pre-Columbian reproductions, bonsai plants and containers and original paintings by Lakeside artists.
