Here’s one idea that won’t cost you a dime and another that will set you back a pretty penny but is likely to be a memorable experience.

Catch the Jalisco State Band every Sunday – also on Thursdays – at 6:30 p.m. in the Plaza de Armas bandstand, across from the Government Palace. It’s the perfect time to appreciate downtown Guadalajara at its most relaxed.

Alternatively, take a ride on the Tequila Express on Saturdays or Sundays, leaving from the Guadalajara train station at 9:30 a.m. and returning 6:30 p.m. Great views, mariachis, limitless tequila, a distillery tour, lunch, dancing and more.
