Children's Day theatrics

There’ll be plenty of drama happening during the Dia del Niño weekend – and we don’t just mean theatrics over gifts, candies and the like.

The Teatro Diana is putting on the classic puppet production “Canek, a Mayan legend,” on Sunday, April 29, 1 p.m. (80-180 pesos), while the Teatro Torres Bodet (Av. España 2020, corner Chapultepec Sur) presents “Un caballo llamado Beto” on Monday, April 30, noon (80 pesos).  The Estudio Diana (annex of the Teatro Diana) shows “Malas Palabras” on Saturday, April 28 and Sunday, April 29, 1 p.m. (50 pesos); the Teatro Alarife Martìn Casillas (Prol. Av Alcalde 1351) presents “La Bella y la Bestia” (Beauty and the Beast) Saturday, April 28 and Sunday, April 29, noon (80 pesos); and the Ex Convento del Carmen (Av. Juarez 638) puts on “El Principe Feliz” Saturday, April 28, and Sunday, April 29, 1 p.m. (free).  All shows in Spanish.
