Mexico’s most expensive cities

The Baja California beach resort of Los Cabos is the most expensive place in Mexico, according to a survey by the Mercer consultancy firm.

Guadalajara is the sixth most expensive city in the country, with Monterrey second, Cancun third, Queretaro fourth and Mexico City fifth.

The Costo de Vida Nacional 2012 study covers 42 locations in Mexico, measuring the comparative cost of 182 products and services in the following nine areas: housing, food, transportation, education, entertainment, clothing and footwear, personal care, home appliances and accessories, and health.
