Puerto Vallarta Bulletin - January 7, 2017

Street party

The block festivities continue. The Southside Shuffle started on Friday, November 18 of last year and will continue every other Friday through April 21.

Puerto Vallarta’s Zona Romantica comes to life from 6 to 10 p.m. on Basilio Badillo between Vallarta and Constitución.

These few blocks are filled with art galleries, shops and boutiques that offer everything from fine art and Mexican pottery to folk art, jewelry and resort wear. This shopping zone has been known as one of Vallarta’s finest for almost 30 years.

The South Side shuffle is in its seventh year and gives everyone a great excuse to shop at the 17 participating businesses. You can stroll along and enjoy a perfect mix of culture, cocktails, music, hanging out with old friends and making new ones.

This is not an art walk but participating galleries such as Galleria Dante, Ambos Galería and Peyote People will be showcasing individual artists throughout the season. You can attend every time and you might not see the same items twice.

While meandering, stop for a bite to eat, sip a cocktail, enjoy conversation or dance to the music provided by musicians at various businesses.

A flair for entertainment

That fiery Latin musical duo, Bohemia Viva, has returned to Puerto Vallarta for their fourth season. Harmonizing and blending their unique vocals with the acoustic infusion of the guitar, Andrea Mottura and Luis Lujan are one of the area’s favorite performance duos.

Originating from Argentina, Bohemia Viva has toured throughout Latin America, the United States, Mexico and Italy. You can see them at The Palm Cabaret & Bar, Olas Altas 508, in Old Town, through March. They will also be performing at The Palm Cabaret and Bar in Bucerías, Miguel Hidalgo 2.

Bohemia Viva ignites the stage with their versions of modern favorites and timeless classics.

Luis and Andrea harmonize effortlessly in beautiful and imaginative arrangements. They give each song an interesting twist.

Launching their new show this month, Bohemia Viva is proud to debut Kaleidoscope. This show will offer new music and a new look. The show is the result of a collaboration with Canadian artists, Brian James and Robert Rollinson, who helped design the props and the idea for the show. This thrilling new concert by Bohemia Viva also marks the release of two limited edition CD’s featuring their most requested cover songs, along with exciting, original Bohemia Viva music.

Bohemia Viva performs at The Palm Cabaret and Bar in Puerto Vallarta at 7 p.m. on January 13, 20, 21, 27, February 22, March 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29; and at 9:30 p.m. on February 1, 8 and 15. Ticket prices are US$20 and $25.
