Police officers buff up on criminology

A class of 70 municipal police officers from Chapala, Jocotepec and other lakeshore region communities were awarded diplomas for completing a three-week training course in basic criminology conducted by professors from Guadalajara’s Colegio Libre de Estudios Universitarios (CLEU).

During off-duty hours, the officers learned theory and practical skills related to crime scene preservation and forensic investigation preparing them to better handle their duties under the new open court judicial system that will be implemented statewide by March of next year.

The graduation ceremony was held Friday, July 24 at Chapala’s Instituto Tecnológico Superior.
