St. Mark’s Anglican ready to party

St. Mark’s Anglican Church is already decorating for its annual fiesta celebrating Mexican independence. The festivities begin at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 18, after the Spanish-language mass at 12:30 pm.  The public is invited.  The fiesta will include comida típica, mariachis, folkloric dancers, games, and a cash bar with beer, wine, tequila, and more. All this for an entrance fee of 100 pesos for adults and 50 pesos for children under 10. Join in for a great time.

St. Mark’s holds its Sunday service in English at 10:30 a.m. with choir practice at 9:45 a.m. Father Jim Priddy’s sermon on September 11 will be “Broken Pots,” looking at the prophet Jeremiah. “Jeremiah spoke of not only God’s judgment against the evils of Israel but also of a God who refused to give up on his people,” says Priddy.

St. Mark’s is at Chichimecas 836, corner of Aztecas, a two-minute drive north of Plaza Mexico, in Colonia Monraz.
