Two Thanksgivings and Chiles en Nogada

The busier fall season is upon us. More returning winter residents are showing up each week and the annual flurry of local restaurant activity designed to attract the attention of locals and snowbirds is underway.

First there’s the growing number of establishments that will be popping turkeys and pumpkin pies into ovens this week to host a bountiful Canadian Thanksgiving celebration on Monday, October 13.

Then the local eateries will barely have time to get all the dishes done and the pots of turkey soup simmered to perfection before they will start the feast-making process all over again in November for the American crowd and the Canadian lovers of the traditional meal. What could be better than living in a place that features two Thanksgivings?
