International festival to showcase local talent, Latin American music

The first International Festival of Latin American Music is coming to Lakeside.

Hosted by Música Para Crecer AC, the festival will see the teachers and students of the Lakeside Youth Orchestra and Choir joined by 12 of their counterparts from Costa Rica.

The festival will highlight two important firsts. A composition by Marcos Hernandez Rayas will have its world premiere, and, for the first time, an Ajijic audience will be able to hear the theorbo, a medieval instrument similar to a lute.
