Author pens first volume on local history

Local author Zaida Cristina Reynoso Camacho this week released the first of three volumes she is writing on the history of the Chapala area, drawn from the collection of documents she oversees as director of the municipal archives.

The first tome recounts interesting events and personages of Santa Cruz de la Soledad and Hacienda de la Labor during the 18th century. Copies of the 100 editions in print are available at the archives office temporarily located at the back of the crafts store next door to Chapala City Hall.

Her next book will focus on Atotonilquillo and San Antonio Tlayacapan. The third volume of the series will delve into the distant past in Chapala and Ajijic.
