Lakeside parish churches schedule Christmas festivities

Chapala’s San Francisco parish welcomes the public to celebrate the Christmas season at a series of special events to be held every night through Wednesday, December 24, 8 p.m. at the entrance to the church.

The hour-long programs include an exhibition of nacimientos vivientes (live nativity tableaux) set for Tuesday, December 23, along with live musical and theatrical shows to be presented on other evenings.

The traditional Christmas Eve Misa de Gallo (Rooster’s Mass) will be celebrated on December 24, 9 p.m.

A Christmas carol concert is scheduled for Tuesday, December 23, 8 p.m., at Ajijic’s  Guadalupe Sanctuary, Calle Ocampo, a half block west of Seis Esquinas.

Christmas Eve festivities at the San Andres parish start with the display of nacimientos vivientes set up in the atrium from 6 to 8 p.m., immediately followed by the Misa de Gallo.
