‘The Last Romance’ – LLT’s preseason fundraiser opens Aug. 29

Lakeside Little Theatre (LLT) patrons will remember last season’s charming play “Over The River And Through The Woods.” Director Ann Swiston is now bringing a bittersweet comedy by the same author to the LLT stage.

“The Last Romance” by Joe DiPietro opens on Friday, August 29 and runs through Sunday, September 7. The cast includes Kenneth Bridges, Peggy Lord Chilton, Candace Luciano, and Ken Yakiwchuk.

Performances will be at 7:30 p.m. for the six evening shows, and at 3 p.m. for the matinees on Saturday, August 30, Sunday, August 31 and Sunday, September 7. Tickets are 225 pesos for non-members. Members and season ticket holders pay only 200 pesos.

This show is a pre-season fundraiser, to help pay for the solar system recently installed at the theater and the many other recent improvements and renovations. Season ticket holders should note that this is an extra show and not part of the six-play set of tickets. The box office will be open from 10 to 11 a.m. daily, beginning Tuesday, August 26 (except Sundays) and one hour before curtain time during the run of the play. Tickets can be requested by emailing  This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .

Season tickets will be available at the LLT box office from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday, August 26 and 27. Those who purchase the season ticket for 1,100 pesos not only  save 275 pesos compared to buying separate tickets for each of the six upcoming plays, they also become members of the Lakeside Little Theatre.

This membership includes a pre-season kick-off party and other benefits such as the privilege of ticket purchase to the NTLive screenings from the National Theatre in London. Tickets holders recently viewed the amazing production of “War Horse,” and are looking forward to future screenings of live plays.
